John Dyer, Operations Manager:
“The biggest problem we have in South East Wales is with young people who are out of work, or not in education or training.
Young people slip out of the school system, and may not have the skills to engage in employment or training due to complex support needs, such as chronic low self esteem, substance misuse or mental health issues.
Wales also has the highest teenage pregnancy rate in western Europe. Fairbridge De Cymru is able to deliver interactive and informative programmes to address the causes and effects of these issues.
Many of our programmes have won national awards and recognition, however the most significant indicator of success for us is getting so many young people engaging with us and learning new skills. "
