Bleeping Babies Hits The Airwaves
Fairbridge De Cymru’s Bleeping Babies have taken to the South Wales airwaves courtesy of Real Radio. Presenters of the popular breakfast programme Real Breakfast Show Tony & Angela have embarked on a week long course with Fairbridge’s bleeping babies. As with all young people who complete the course, Tony & Angela will care for the babies 24/7 and involve them in all aspects of their daily lives – including presenting their live morning show!
John Dyer, Operations Manager at Fairbridge De Cymru, added; “We are delighted to be partnering with Real Radio for this project to highlight the work that Fairbridge De Cymru is doing to address the reality & impact of teenage birth rates across Wales and doubly excited to have Tony and Angela involved. Young people who are NEET are statistically more likely to become teenage parents and need focussed programmes of support to raise their self-esteem, aspirations and awareness of the impact and implications of having a baby on their lives. The Bleeping Babies course aims to provide young people with the understanding of the difficulties involved in having children at a young age and key objectives include awareness of keeping safe sexually, the financial cost of babies and the emotional difficulties involved in being responsible for another human being
