" My keyworker at school asked if I wanted to go to Fairbridge and I said yes. When I first started coming to the centre I thought it was good, I liked the place and it was better than school. I find it difficult to learn in school but at Fairbridge I learn without really knowing that I am.

When I first started I was shy as I didn’t know anyone but now I’m less shy when I come to the centre and meet new people.

Fairbridge has helped me with my communication; I used to be quite argumentative when having conversations and get quite angry but I’ve learnt to be a lot calmer with people. I’ve found this gets me more things and people will help me more.

I have enjoyed all the activities and like the choice; my favourites are mountain biking and fishing.

I would definitely recommend Fairbridge; the staff are good, you can talk to them and they listen to you."

" I had a meeting with someone at my Housing association and they suggested that I come over to Fairbridge.

To start with I was really shy and nervous but I was soon glad that I came over as the staff were very helpful and supportive.

I want to get a job working with children of nursery age and Fairbridge have helped me gain confidence, get some qualifications and offered support and advice.

My favourite activities have been the Health Club where we have done a range of different sporting activities, I’ve really enjoyed the healthy eating that we do each time as part of the session. I also enjoyed the Parenting project as I learnt new skills that I can use in my childcare career.

I have achieved several qualifications including First Aid, Health and Safety and Level 3 trampolining.

I would definitely recommend Fairbridge as they offer good activities and lots of support."
