A 'Top 100' place to work

Fairbridge youth charity, who the North Manchester team are a branch of, has scooped 43rd place in The Sunday Times list of 100 best companies, with only two other charities placing higher than them. Nearly 1000 companies entered and more than 230,000 staff were surveyed by Best Companies Ltd to create the famous list, published on 7th March.

This is the first year that Fairbridge has entered the survey and finding themselves in the top 50, with companies like Microsoft (44) and Kellogg (55) behind them, is something they are hugely proud of.

The list, which is now in its 10th year, judges companies based on a wide ranging survey of staff. The Fairbridge results show that:

- 86% of employees say they feel proud to work for Fairbridge

- 80% of employees felt their job was good for personal growth

- 89% of employees said the organisation provides a great service to its client group (ranked third overall on this point)

Fairbridge has also been rated as ‘outstanding’ (two stars) in the associated Best Companies accreditation system.

Fairbridge Chief Executive Andrew Purvis said: “It’s great news for all of the amazing people we employ at Fairbridge that we’ve been recognised in this way. We work hard to try and make Fairbridge a great place to work because, without passionate and committed staff, we wouldn’t be able to achieve our goal of helping young people to achieve theirs!”
