On Monday 5th July 2010 a group of 17 volunteers from City west Housing Trust came to spruce up our Salford centre. The City West Works Skills team decided to forgo their normal team building event in favour of giving their time to Fairbridge which is local to the works.
Representatives from the ‘Pirate Painters’ made the centre sparkle with a new paint job and the ‘Garden Guerillas’ gave the grounds a makeover for summer ably assisted by the rest of the Work Skills team.
The local teams had undertaken a variety of fundraising activities such as dress down days to fund the equipment for the projects over the last month and Mick Morgan landscaping supervisor at City West said he ‘couldn't wait to get stuck in’.
Tracy Minshull, Team Manager at Fairbridge commented, “It’s fantastic that City West are giving their backing to Fairbridge, the work will be invaluable in improving the surroundings for the young people that use our centre. The support of our local community means a great deal to us and by working with City West on a number of projects we aim to further our community relationships.”
