Working in partnership

Royal Bank of Scotland employees have been a huge help to the North Manchester team over recent months by getting involved in various employee involvement days. This has taken place in the format of a Zero to Hero challenge and a Changing Rooms project.

Zero to Hero saw two RBS teams receive £500 each from the North Manchester team, and given the task of adding an extra zero to the cheque that they returned, totalling a target sum of £10,000. The two teams came up with numerous innovative fundraising ideas, ranging from collecting money at Rochdale AFC, setting up an online auction, completing sponsored cycling and rowing challenges in the office (!) and the more traditional cake sales. Through their hard work and dedication the teams exceeded their target, collecting just under £12,000 for Fairbridge North Manchester!

Changing Rooms engaged yet another dedicated team of RBS employees, participating in a team building event that greatly benefited the new Fairbridge North Manchester centre. The team were given the task of kitting out the North Manchester Training Suite, turning it into a professional board room and training area, suitable for hire by local organisations as well as for use by the national Fairbridge Training team. After some brilliant fundraising efforts and some hard labour on the day, the RBS team produced a fantastically equipped room which has already seen several bookings! Northern Books is a new school book supplier in the North West of England that helps schools to purchase the products and services they need at great value for money, whilst giving back to the local community. This year Northern Books has selected Fairbridge North Manchester as their charity of choice and have pledged to promote, fundraise for and donate resources to the team.
