Working One-to-One

An effective training course for anyone who works with young people in a one-to-one environment. Develop skills such as active planning and goal setting, draw on different reviewing techniques and learn about examining needs analysis.

During the course you will explore:

  • The value of using an experiential learning cycle for both yourself and young people
  • How to enhance your range of skills and techniques for facilitating planning and goal setting, reviewing and transferring learning
  • How to ensure an exchange of experience between staff and young people to raise confidence and gain optimum learning

Our Trainers

Louise Willis-Keeler

Louise has worked with vulnerable young people for over a decade in both formal and informal environments including youth offending, NEET young people and young carers. She has a Masters Degree in Community and Youth Work. Her training style is experiential, informative and participative and she encourages delegates to draw upon their own experiences of working with young people, in particular the ability to use warmth and humour!

Ruth Bradbrook

Ruth has worked with young people at risk for over 15 years, as a face to face practitioner moving on to become a Training and Development Manage for Fairbridge with Fairbridge and subsequently running her own development training and consultancy business. In addition to her teaching degree, Ruth is an accredited Facilitator with the Institute for Development of Human Potential and is a certified Reality Therapy Practitioner. She is also qualified to deliver the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.
