Work with us

We subsidise 75% of the cost of every under 16 year old who attends Fairbridge and 100% for those young people over 16 years old to ensure we are available to all young people who need our support. By providing this subsidy to young people, we have to raise almost £600,000 each year through fundraising. To ensure we are a sustainable organisation, fundraising support comes in the form of grants from local statutory sources, trusts, lottery grants, individuals, corporate organisations and events.

We wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the generous support of a wide range of supporters and funders who are working with us to improve the chances for young people in Southampton and Hampshire.

If you would like to get involved in any way, please get in touch.

There is so much going on at Fairbridge Solent – so why not get involved? Your support will make a big difference!

Working in partnership

The Mayor of Southampton

We are delighted that the Mayor of Southampton Councillor Liz Mizon selected Fairbridge Solent as one of her two chosen charities to support in 2009/10. During her year as Mayor, Councillor Mizon is keen to promote community and a sense of ‘belonging’, choosing charities who work with people who are or could easily be excluded.

The Mayor has been very involved with Fairbridge, attending events, visiting the centre and supporting the young people. The Mayor has also hosted a number of fundraising events on our behalf. Our staff and young people at Fairbridge have had the opportunity to visit the Mayor’s Parlour and offer our support at these various events.

Dibden Allotments Charity

The Dibden Allotments Charity has supported Fairbridge Solent for a number of years. This year, we were delighted when they were able to offer even more financial support by part-funding young people through our programme who live in and around Hythe, Dibden, Marchwood and Fawley. They have provided vulnerable young people who live in these areas with the opportunity to take part in our personal development programme and make positive changes in their lives.

Rotary Club Southampton East

This year Southampton East Rotary Club has supported the young people and team at Fairbridge Solent. As well as generously donating funds to help the work we do they have also supported us at numerous fundraising events. Funding has helped us support the costs involved on sending our young people to sail on our 92’ replica schooner Spirit of Fairbridge.
