Team history

We are currently celebrating our tenth year of working in Birmingham. We’ve moved about in the last ten years but are currently in our fabulous centre in Digbeth – housing all of our outdoor equipment, hi-tech music studio and huge kitchen. We moved to Digbeth two and a half years ago; before that we were in Cheapside in a smaller place and before that in even smaller places! The team has changed a lot over the last few years. We’ve got more diverse courses and projects happening but we’ve also formalised the delivery of the courses and can really pinpoint all those positive outcomes that are happening for our young people.

There’s been a lot happening at Fairbridge West Midlands too. In 2005 we were visited by then Heath Minister Caroline Flint. UB40 drummer, James Brown, opened our music room three years ago. CALA Homes also recently sponsored our Celebrity Cricket Match in September with big names such as Chris Tarrant, Mark Ramprakash, Matthew Hoggard and Gladstone Small bowling for Fairbridge.

We, at West Mids, are always pleased to see local MPs from all sides and our local councillors from all wards, come in for a visit.
